Julep Maven Intro Subscription Box - Classic with a Twist

This month I signed up to become a Julep Maven since I had found out you can get your first intro box for only $0.01, regularly $19.99. I took the Julep Maven style quiz and came out with Classic with a Twist as my result. It actually ended up being colors I would want anyways but you can go in and change your profile result so you get the colors you want, there are 5 to choose from. The starter boxes are guaranteed to come with at least two gorgeous polishes and other beauty favorites chosen just for you.

I must admit I love coming home after a long day at work to presents (aka subscription boxes!) So here is what I found once I opened my first Julep Maven box...

So here's the rundown of what I received...

Julep Essential Cuticle Oil - All-natural blend of essential oils and Vitamin E hydrates and strengthens nails and cuticles. Extends the life of your manicure while leaving a glossy sheen.
Julep Daylight Defense SPF 15 Lip Balm - Nourish, hydrate, and protect your lips with this vanilla mint flavored lip balm.

I immediately used the cuticle oil since my nails/hands have been so dry lately. I was surprised to find the oil came with a rollerball applicator instead of a brush. I must say it is the most genius idea ever! It is so much easier, cleaner and faster than using a brush. Did I mention it smells great too? I also tried both nail polishes out and they are great colors that I will definitely use often that complement each other well--a mid tone grey and a very glittery purple. They resisted chipping a bit longer than most polishes that I've used in the past and the colors were nicely saturated even if only applying one coat. And last but not least the lip balm. If you know me there is rarely a chapstick that I don't like and this one rocks. The vanilla mint flavor is lovely and its SPF 15 to keep your lips sun safe.

Overall I am thrilled with this box that I only paid $0.01 and $3.00 in shipping for. Each polish retails for $14, the cuticle oil for $18 and the lip balm $6 for a total of $52 in products! I'd say that is more than a great deal. I'm going to continue my subscription for now so look for my March Julep Maven box review next month!
