- Halloween Costumes for Women
Topic #1:
Binswanger holds a United Way meeting every year where someone comes in and speaks to us about the organization, etc. It is MANDATORY that all employees attend, which I don't mind because they give us free donuts :) However, if you do not donate any money to the org you get heckled by the big shots in the company. I once received a personal email from the president of the company telling me that I had to donate. I also heard people have been approached by the heads face to face or even talked about for not donating. WTF! I mean seriously!
First of all I donate to various charities as it is for things that I feel my money should go towards such as supporting my friends in walks, races for Cancer, Down Syndrome, etc. I rowed in the Dragon Boat for Fox Chase, I did Race for the Cure...what else do you want from me!!?? At least I can pick to have my money go towards Overbrook School for the Blind, even though they tell you to choose a specific place for your money to go...
Topic #2
Now onto Halloween costumes... So this year I decided I want to be something ghoulish, funny, gross and/or scary. I have narrowed it down to trailer trash (not a trailer trash slut) or something very bloody and dark. Little did I realize they only create/sell women's costumes that fall into the WHORE category. I mean I know Halloween is the holiday that gives women an excuse to dress like a prostitute, but come on not ALL of us want to, ok maybe I'm the only one.
I'm sorry but when you turn a Starbucks employee uniform into a whoreish costume...now that's just too far... (I wonder if anyone actually bought that)
So tonight I will be on my quest to find some ugly clothes at Value City, a funny wig and some garrish makeup.
word, sister. it's pretty messed up that they try to tell you where you should be donating your money. ESPECIALLY because they are doing this to people that do not enjoy the bountiful salaries they receive. damn the man, sista.
ReplyDeletealso, i like that you use the word 'garrish'
