Orville Redenbacher's Pop Up Bowl Popcorn
I recently redeemed a $1 off coupon for this new product with much excitement since I'm a huge popcorn junkie.
The website claims it is "...easy to use, easy to share, and even easier to clean up."
Boy are they dead wrong!
I opened the box and checked out the directions--I noticed the popping time was shortened substantially. So I toss it into the microwave (correct side up) and set the time. After about 2 1/2 minutes I started to get a burnt smell so I stopped it. Now here comes the "fun" part.

I could not for the life of me figure out which way was the top or where to rip it open. There were at least 3 different spots that said tear here and none of them actually tore the bag open, instead it just kept ripping off paper. After I couldn't figure it out my boyfriend tried to open it only to be splattered with popcorn oil/butter! We ended up just cutting it open and dumping it into a bowl. The small amount of popcorn (compared to a regular bag) was disappointing and not what I had imagined would be the end result of this.

UPDATE (3/24/11)
I voiced my concern to ConAgra Foods (the main brand) through their website and I immediately received an email back from customer care apologizing for my experience, detailed directions and a video on how to use the popup bowl and a note that I would be receiving product replacement coupons in the mail shortly. Thank you ConAgra for listening to your customers!!!! It's companies like this that I will continue to support!
Also guys if you don't voice your problems/concerns then they can't improve upon products--- so speak up!
