Allure Beauty Box Summer Essentials

 

This was my first Allure Beauty Box and all I can say is WOW! no wonder these are so hard to come by. The value of these boxes is unbelievable and they are all great products - mostly new to me but some familiar faces as well.  This box was packed with over $250 worth of the hottest products of the summer season for only $39.99 PLUS $5 from every purchase was donated to the Skin Cancer Foundation which as a Melanoma survivor is a big plus in my book. I'm not sure how often they come out (I think with each season) with these boxes but I'll be sure to let everyone know beforehand. Rumor has it the next box will be available sometime in August. So here's the rundown of all the fabulous products I received:

Birchbox Special Delivery: Nuance Salma Hayek Collection Box Review

I totally forgot about getting an email a month or so ago from Birchbox asking if I wanted to receive a special Birchbox featuring Nuance by Salma Hayek products to test out. Of course I said yes and then forgot about it....I was so happy to see this bright red box sitting on my doorstep last week! I had never heard of nor seen these products at all before this box. The products are all influenced by Salma’s grandmother and ancient Mayan traditions and ingredients. All of the Nuance products are exclusively available at CVS stores nationwide and online at cvs.com/nuancesalmahayek and there are a TON of products that are very affordable. Cool thing about the products though is that some of them have the actual testing results on the label as to how many people saw increased moisture after using, etc. Unfortunately I threw out the box before realizing I didn't have photos of it so the above stock photo will have to do :)

AM/PM Anti-Aging Super Cream

I used this once and probably won't again, I'm not really into all the creams other than moisturizers. Although my younger sisters are telling me I need to get on the anti-aging cream kick.

My Secret Super Moisturizing Body Cream

Salma Hayek drew from a revered family recipe to create this shea- and honey infused lotion. We’re totally hooked on the light, fruity scent. Full Size $14.99
I love love love this lotion. It's really rich (due to the shea) and has a nice scent to it.

Mamey Fruit Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner

The mamey fruit in this exotic duo helps boost body and stimulate hair growth, while acai and rice bran oil leave hair soft and easy-to-manage. Full size $7.99 each
Haven't used these yet as I'm kinda backed up on all my haircare products to try but they smell good and claim to be all natural. These will come in handy on vacation!

Lights, Camera, Action Eye Trio - Bronze/Gold Shimmer

This ingenious stacked shadow, liner, and highlighter has you covered 24-7. Bonus: It’s perfectly purse-friendly. Full Size $8.79
I was most excited about this product when I opened up the box. I love anything that is multiple products in one and this has 3! The colors are perfect for the smokey eye look.

Birchbox Man - May 2013 Box

May is Birchbox Man's 1st birthday so it was a great month to start subscribing! The box for the month is dedicated to being a grown-up. J was asking me repeatedly when the first box was coming so when it arrived he pretty much tore right into it so I didn't get an untouched just opening shot-boo hoo. Just by looking at it though, this box definitely was well worth the $20 price. I also like the actual box they use versus the women's box - the slide out drawer is kinda nifty.

This stuff smells pretty good - J used a small amount on his face (yeah i know...) and since he has sensitive skin I cringed at that thought but he had no issues

I think I am stealing this. After using the shampoo and conditioner from my April box I love Oribe!

Haven't tried these out yet but will report once one of us does- however they didn't give enough pills in the packet to follow their directions for recommended usage...

J thought these were still on the small side and slipping off his feet - although he's a bit picky when it comes to socks so I'm thinking I have 2 new pairs of socks! (sorry for fuzzy pic, don't know what happened here)

The box total came to about $70 worth of products...not bad huh!?

The Bride Box Review and Coupon Code!

I received my Bride Box today and couldn't wait to open it! This was the first Bride Box ever and the theme is Love is in the air. I love the blue and white theme of the packaging.
